Where It All Began
Back in 1996, Xurro started with a simple idea: make churros the way they were meant to be made. From scratch. With real ingredients. No shortcuts.
What began as a passion project rooted in authentic Mexican churro-making grew into something bigger than we ever imagined. One location became two, then three, and now thirteen — spanning four states from Illinois to Florida.
Through all the growth, the recipe hasn't changed. The standards haven't changed. We're still the same family-driven team that fell in love with making churros almost thirty years ago — just with a few more kitchens and a whole lot more fans.
What We Stand For
These aren't marketing slogans. They're the rules we've followed since the very first batch.
We use clean, quality oils — never lard. You can taste the difference in every bite, and feel good about what you're eating.
Real cinnamon. Real vanilla. Real chocolate. Everything you taste is exactly what it says it is — honest and authentic.
Every batch of dough is made in-house, by hand. We don't use bags of powder or frozen pre-mixes. From scratch means from scratch.
We could cut corners and nobody would know. But we would know. Quality isn't negotiable — it's the whole point.
Our Space
Xurro isn't just a place to grab a churro and go — though you're welcome to do that too. We designed our spaces to feel like an extension of home. Warm lighting, comfortable seating, and the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to stay a little longer.

Our Journey
From one kitchen to 13 locations, here's how we got here.
1996
Xurro is born in Chicago. A family's love for authentic Mexican churros meets a city hungry for something real. Every churro made from scratch, every single day.
2000s
Word spreads across Chicago. What started as a neighborhood favorite becomes a city-wide destination. The menu expands with filled churros, sundaes, and specialty drinks — but the dough recipe stays the same.
2010s
From Pilsen to Logan Square to Northcenter, Xurro opens new doors across Chicago's most vibrant neighborhoods. The Xurro Truck also hits the road, bringing churros to events, festivals, and celebrations across the region.
2020s
Xurro heads south. New locations in Clermont and Orlando bring the same handmade quality to Florida — proving that great churros have no borders.
Today
Thirteen locations across four states — Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, and Florida — a mobile churro truck, and the same from-scratch recipe that started it all. The best part? We're just getting started.
